In a partnership with the 20 Million Minds Foundation (20MM), Akademos has recently announced the creation of a non-profit Textbook Adoption Tool that aims to help faculty identify affordable peer-reviewed textbook options for their courses. The Textbook Adoption Tool was designed to be a one-stop source for faculty to access and compare over 2 million books across 3,600 subjects from a range of different publishers. In addition, the textbook selections are available in a variety of formats such as traditional, eBooks, and open access.

Dean Florez, CEO of 20MM, has described the search tool as a way to “provide faculty with the information they need to make an informed decision, including reviews and testimonials by verified faculty, the cost of the book (in new, used, rental and digital format) through an affordability index, links between old editions and new editions, links between bundled and unbundled versions, alternative high quality open source content, national adoption information, and other critical factors.”

The Textbook Adoption Tool has been integrated onto the 20 Million Minds Foundation website and it can currently be accessed at:
