Amazon has announced the launch of Kindle Textbook Rental, a program that offers up to 80% off when titles are ordered from the Kindle Store, according to an article in Publishers Weekly on July 18, 2011. Tens of thousands of textbooks are available from major textbook publishers. Students may get more information at www.amazon.com/kindletextbooks.

Kindle Textbook Rental offers the ability to customize rental periods to any length between 30 and 360 days, allowing students to only pay for the specific amount of time they need a book. Students can also easily extend any rental period for as little as one day or more, or even purchase the book at any time during the rental period.

And renting from Kindle allows students keep all of the margin notes they make in the text, even after the rental expires.  Read more at http://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/digital/content-and-e-books/article/48032-amazon-launches-kindle-textbook-rental.html?utm_source=Publishers+Weekly’s+PW+Daily&utm_campaign=7a524e78e9-UA-15906914-1&utm_medium=email
